There are 4 common stressors that everyone at one point or another deals with, sometimes on a daily basis, but did you know that there are easy ways to help combat them?!
1) MONEY
Yep, it ranks as one of the top worries of almost all Americans. How can you make this area of your life less stressful? Easy, make a financial plan. Learn how to organize your finances, there are a ton of websites out there now that can help (cfp.net). Also, talk to your friends that are successfully getting through this hard economic times, ask them what their secrets are, just make sure not to pry! Set a budget and stick to it.
2) SLEEP
Most people go through times in their lives where getting a good night's sleep is a distant memory. There are four ways to help try and improve your sleep. First, try and get plenty of aerobic exercise (preferably more than 2 hours BEFORE going to bed). Next sleep in a darkened room, that means NO television on while trying to fall asleep. Here's one that might be hard on some pet lovers, but banish them from your bed, not your bedroom, just your bed. And lastly, be more social, loneliness plays a big part in insomnia.
3) DINNER TIME
I know, sounds weird, right? Wrong! Did you know a lot of stress comes from trying to get a nutritious dinner on the table in a time-crunch? Take time out on a less busy day and plan ahead and do smart grocery shopping, it will be one less thing to worry about during your busy week.
4) THE DAILY GRIND
The easiest way to combat this, is to find creative solutions that just could benefit you! One of the biggest stressors, TRAFFIC! Is your daily commute making your day start out awful? Try something new, like listening to an audio version of the latest book you have been trying to find time to read. Or how about learning you a new language. Do you sit at a desk all day, glaring at a computer screen? Did you know little small 2-3 minute breaks every hour, can make you MORE productive? Get up and move, stretch, or just walk outside and take a couple of deep breaths.
Just remember, changing a little steps to distress, might be just what the doctor ordered!!
