Tips For Showing Your Home

When your Realtor calls to bring a prospective buyer to your home, prompt attention to last minute details can enhance your home's appeal. Follow these simple tips and you are bound to sell your home quickly.

1) Straighten up the minor messes. Take the newspapers to the garage, put the china and silverware in the cupboards, and don't forget to put the ironing board back in the closet.

2) Clear the table. The collection of magazines on the coffee table maybe handy but it causes clutter.

3) Confine your pets. Some people are not as fond of Fido as you are, so please make sure to keep dogs, or cats in transport kennels in the garage or basement, (depending on the temperature).

4) Leave the light on! Even your Realtor won't necessarily remember that the switch for the recessed ceiling lights is hidden in the closet.

5) Leave your home whenever possible. You hired your Realtor because of their experience on home sales. Stay out of the way, some buyers don't feel comfortable, they may feel you are watching their every move.

If you can't leave, greet your guests politely and retreat to another room, send your kids and pets outside. This way your realtor will be able to effectively show your home. The Realtor will appreciate your help and you will appreciate the Realtor doing their job to sell your home.
